Vale Keith Mapp
Published Mon 25 Jul 2022
Hockey Queensland advises that Keith Mapp, Hockey Queensland Life Member, has passed away over the weekend.
Keith was a well-known figure in Hockey throughout Queensland, and particularly Brisbane Hockey Association.
He was awarded a Life Membership in 1992, was Queensland President 1987 to 1992, was a Queensland men’s coach (one of the first Level 3 Coaches in Queensland), and was a Selector for many years.
Mr Mapp was involved with the beginnings of Queensland Indoor both as a Selector and Team Player.
Perhaps a little known fact, is that Keith made up the party of three who brought the then known as ‘Minkey’ to Queensland.
Anybody who knew Keith would know that he loved a bit of a chat about hockey, so you could often catch him at this beloved Commercial Hockey Club where you would chew the fat for way too many hours!
