Vale Hugh Robson

It is with sadness that we farewell our friend and colleague Hugh Robson, who lost his long battle with cancer and passed away recently.
Hugh was awarded a Distinguished Service Award from Hockey Queensland in 2004. He became the first State Director of Coaching for both Queensland Women’s Hockey and Queensland Men’s Hockey. He was committed to coaches and players and served for many years in this role. He lent his hand to many other facets of the game, but coaching was his passion.
He was named as a Distinguished Player of the 2008 inductees. Hugh played for Australia in 1969 and for Queensland in 1963, 1965 to 1971 and again in 1973.
He was a dedicated 'club man' for Commercial Hockey Club in Brisbane.
