COLIN ROY HAMILTON OAM
Rockhampton Indoor Hockey Association has advised its members and Hockey Queensland that RIHA Life Member/Long Service Member & Past Patron passed away on June 8th, 2022.
Mr Hamilton was one of the First Vice Presidents of Rockhampton Indoor Hockey Association which started in 1978 and shared this role with Mrs Hamilton four seasons.

Mr Hamilton became the Patron of Rockhampton Indoor Hockey for the 1982/1983 Season and held this position right through to 1999/2000 Season.
Mr Hamilton Took a break between the two thousand & 2001 Season and returned to the role of Patron in 2003 where resumed the role of Patron again until he stood down at the end of the 2017 & 2018 Season.
Col was the main organiser who started the All-Whites Hockey team as a Coach/Organiser, He also played with this Team in his younger days and there is a story to tell.
Col had seen many changes in the Executive of Rockhampton Indoor Hockey Association over many years and guide each executive during his time as Patron.
Col Hamilton was awareded his Hockey Merit Award in 1986 for his dedication to the Game of Hockey.- Source Hockey Queensland Records.
Members of the Rockhampton Indoor Hockey Association requested to wear playing shirt from either their Outdoor Club or the Indoor Hockey Team.

Colin received a Queensland Hockey Association (QHA) Award of Merit in 1986, now known as a Hockey Queensland Distinguished Service Award.
The awards known as QHA Awards of Merit, and QWHA Long Service Awards, were renamed as Distinguished Service Awards following the merge that created Hockey Queensland in 1995.
Hockey Queensland expresses our condolences and sympathy to Mrs Hamilton and family.
