Two Participation Forums Hosted In Queensland
Published Mon 31 Mar 2025
Hockey Queensland recently partnered with Hockey Australia to deliver two Participation Forums aimed at supporting clubs and volunteers to grow junior hockey across the state.
The forums were designed for coaches, coordinators, volunteers and club leaders, with a focus on strengthening participation for 5–12 year olds through Hookin2Hockey.
We were pleased to welcome 23 participants in Cairns and 7 in Brisbane, with valuable conversations around participant recruitment, volunteer support, and how to make the most of the new Hookin2Hockey Games Guide.
Attendees also took part in a practical on-pitch session and received a Coordinator Kit to take back to their clubs, which included game cards, a whistle and recognition tools to support weekly delivery.
It was a great step forward in bringing people together, sharing ideas, and building momentum for junior hockey in Queensland.
