New Committee Charter and Call for Committee EOIs

Hockey Queensland (HQ) is pleased to announce a new Committee Charter (The Charter) and Committee Code of Conduct to assist in aligning the nine Hockey Queensland Operating Committees and to support the functions of the committees in line with the HQ Constitution and Strategic Plan. 

As per The Charter HQ is also calling for expressions of interest (EOI) to appoint committee members for 2021.

High Performance Committee
•    Chair - 2 year term.
•    Non Hockey HP Sport Representative – 1 year term.
•    Player Representatives, 3 positions available for a 1 year term.  Player representatives must have previously represented Queensland at Open Level (e.g. Blades/Scorchers/Blaze) no more than ten years prior to nomination but must not be a current player.

Technical Committee
•    Chair - 2 year term.  The Chair must be an active technical official accredited to a minimum of level 3. 
•    General Members
5 x 2 year term
3 x 1 year term
General Members must be active and a minimum of level 2 accreditation.

Women’s Masters
•    Chair - 2 year term.
•    General Members, four positions available. Terms will range from 1 to 2 years.

Men’s Masters 
•    Chair - 2 year term.
•    Secretary - 2 year term.
•    Treasurer - 2 year term.
•    General member, three positions are available for 2 year terms and two positions for a 1 year term.

Umpire Committee
•    Chair - 2 year term.
•    General member, five positions are available for 2 year terms and three positions for a 1 year term.

Coaching Committee
2021 will see the introduction of a new Coaching Committee. The purpose of this committee will be to:
•    To increase the participation and standard of coaching throughout Queensland.
•    To ensure adequate educational standards are maintained for coaches.
•    To ensure an inclusive philosophy is maintained. 
•    To develop a close working relationship with schools, all affiliated associations and other educational institutions to enhance the development of Coaching across all levels of hockey.
•    To drive the #TeamQld culture. 

Hockey Queensland is seeking expressions of interest from the coaching community to sit on the Coaching Committee. The following positions are available. 
•    Chair - 2 year term.
•    Regional coach representative – 2 year term.
•    Performance coach representative – 2 year term 
•    General members, 3 positions for a 1 year term. General Members must have experience, knowledge and understanding of coaching however it can be any level of the sport. Junior and participation coaches are highly recommended to apply.

EOI’s are now open and close on the Friday November 6 2020.
