Indoor COVID Hub

Published Wed 14 Oct 2020

With the Indoor season and State Championships fast approaching, HQ have launched our Indoor specific COVID Hub on the website.

If you will be involved in Indoor this season, please familiarise yourself with the Indoor COVID-19 Regulations, and follow the instructions of your Association and Venue.

Some main points to consider for State Championships:

  • Players and Officials participating in the Indoor State Championships must organise their own travel and accommodation (outlined in the Queensland Tourism And Accommodation Industry COVID-Safe Plan)
  • Players cannot travel with members/people outside of their family (including carpooling to games)
  • Indoor facility capacities limit the amount of spectators and some venues may not allow spectators at all - therefore parent/s may not be able to watch games being played
  • Each family unit will be required to maintain appropriate social distancing from all individuals who are not part of their direct family unit, even if travelling together

  • Teams must vacate the bench and venue immediately after the game and must not congregate at or near the venue

  • There is the potential for accommodation venues to notify officials/police of breaches, or for police to arrive at accommodation venues to conduct random checks for non-compliance, resulting in fines. This is important for travelling teams to understand so that the usual team gatherings in rooms don’t occur and team gatherings occur outside in compliance with social distancing requirements.
