Hockey Queensland Championship - Wrap Up
Published Tue 04 May 2021
The inaugural Hockey Queensland Championship has wrapped up after a fantastic weekend in Toowoomba.
It was a huge long weekend of hockey, bringing over 300 of Queensland's best athletes together across 19 teams to fight it out for their Associations.
In the Men's Grand Final, Brisbane and Toowoomba 1 were locked at 3-all at full time, forcing a tense shoot-out. Brisbane won the shoot-out 4-2, with some cracking saves from the Brisbane keeper Mitch Nicholson.
The Women's Grand Final brought Gold Coast and Brisbane head to head for another thrilling match. The Brisbane defence fought off consecutive attacks from Gold Coast to claim the women’s title 2-1.
