Statement from the CEO regarding State Teams and National Championships
Hockey Queensland is currently working through a number of scenarios in relation to today’s lock down announcement from the Palaszczuk Government for Greater Brisbane.
We are doing everything we can to ensure Queensland is represented at the National Championships and therefore want to make a decision with the most up to date information. What happens in the next 24 hours will impact our options. All teams are well represented by players from Brisbane and those that are outside of, but still in the South East, have been coming to Brisbane for training, therefore all teams will be impacted. After discussions with Hockey Australia, it was decided to wait for more information.
HQld appreciates this is a very difficult time for everyone and you have all trained so hard to represent Queensland.
We also appreciate this is particularly devastating for those outside of Greater Brisbane. However we are all #TEAMQLD and therefore we need to draw on our resilience to navigate this difficult moment.
Much of this is outside of HQld’s control, yet we want to give our teams the best chance of being able to attend. HQld will continue to work together and keep across the latest information. We will inform you as soon as a decision has been made.
I want to thank you for your patience as we work through this.
