Board Director Positions Available

Hockey Queensland seeks nominations to join the passionate and motivated Hockey Queensland board that oversees the strategic direction of the sport of hockey in Queensland.

The board of Hockey Queensland consists of volunteers who are committed to the development, sustainability, and prosperity of hockey in Queensland.

Seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people for appointment to fill two Director Positions. One position is to fill a casual vacancy the second is for an appointed position.

Hockey Queensland is seeking directors with specialists’ skills to compliment the experience and expertise of the existing board in one or all of the following areas:

• Law
• Marketing
• Commercialisation
• Governance

No experience of hockey is required however experience on boards and/or in governance roles in sport is highly desirable.
The role involves:

• Contributing to the strategic direction of the organisation.
• Keeping up with issues and trends that affect the organisation.
• Contribute to the development of polices and strategic plans.
• Participating in the evaluation of the business operations and CEO.
• Maintaining confidentiality on all internal organisational affairs.
• Provide your expertise and advice in support of the Board’s decision-making capacity.
• Attend at least 9 board meetings a year wither in person or via video conference.

Hockey Queensland is a member of Hockey Australia and the peak body for hockey recognised by the State Government of Queensland. Made up of over 40,000 participants, with over 15,000 members, 22 Associations across Queensland. The current Hockey Queensland Strategic Plan is available here.
