Big Hockey Hit Out - Women Wrapped Up!

The Big Hockey Hit Out (BHHO) -  Queensland's newest and most competitive event - continued last Sunday 26th September at the Gold Coast!

The final and third round took place first thing in the morning, with the Rays drawing with Thunder 2 - 2 before going to shootout and winning 3 - 2. Whilst the Reef remained winless, losing to the Stingers 2 - 1. 

These results booked the Stingers and the Rays a spot in the afternoon's Grand Final, and sent the Thunder and Reef to the 3rd v 4th 10 person shootout. 

Jade Smith and Mekenzie Hermann scored for the Reef, but the Thunder were too strong with Claire Colwill, Madeline Kenny, Hannah Cullum-Sanders and Dayle Dolkens all scoring to secure the Thunder 3rd place. 

In the Grand Final, it was neck and neck with both teams fighting for their share in $2,000. Heading into the final quarter, the Rays led 3 - 1 but a goal and conversion from Ruby Harris locked the game 3 - 3. With less than 4 minutes to go Tinesha Carey secured the win for the Stingers with a Penalty Corner.
