Big Hockey Hit Out All Wrapped Up!

The Big Hockey Hit Out (BHHO) - Queensland's most competitive event – finished up with the finals series earlier today!

In the Men, the Rays met the Reef in the 3rd/4th playoff match, then it was Thunder v Stingers in the Grand Final.

The Rays and Reef match up was neck and neck, with scores locked at 3 all until the final quarter. A late field goal from Jacob Anderson gave the Rays the win 4-3.

In the Men's Grand Final, the Stingers led the Thunder 3-1 at halftime, but by full time scores were locked 3 all sending the teams to shootout. The Stingers were too good, winning shootout 3-2 and the tournament. 
 
In the Women, the Thunder met the Stingers in the 3rd/4th playoff match, then it was Reef v Rays in the Grand Final.

A quick goal and conversion from Britt Wilkinson opened the scoring for Thunder, but by halftime the Stingers were up 8 - 2. A late surge from the Thunder in the third wasn't enough to change the tide, with the Stingers winning 11 - 6. 

In the Grand Final, it was neck and neck with both teams fighting for their share in $2,000. It was Hockeyroo v Hockeyroo with Morgan Gallagher captaining the Rays, and Hannah Cullum-Sanders up front for the Reef. 

At halftime, the scores were level 0-0, but some Cullum-Sanders magic at the 32nd mark put the Reef on the board. Another great tip from Casey Dolkens secured the Reef the win 2-0.
