Annual Awards Night 2024
Published Wed 16 Oct 2024
Hockey Queensland was proud to present the winners of the Annual Awards for 2024 on Saturday night
The community came together at the Annual Awards Dinner held at Voco Hotel in Brisbane on Saturday 12th October 2024.
The 2023 Hockey One League Champions, the Brisbane Blaze, were awarded their Championship rings. At the 2024 Annual General Meeting earlier in the year, two awards were bestowed on our members. The first is the 2024 Distinguished Service Award awarded to Denis Tierney. The next is a Life Membership awarded to outgoing Hockey Queensland President Steve Stewart. Hockey Queensland were thrilled to be able to present these at the event.
Thank you to Brisbane Blaze member Morgan Mathison for assisting with the trophy presentation.
Awards
The Annual Awards were in two categories – Achievement and Community.
The Hockey Queensland Achievement Awards celebrate those in hockey who had outstanding success in their field for 2024. These awards were voted on and decided by the relevant committees.
The Hockey Queensland Community Awards aim to celebrate those in our community that ‘go above and beyond’, without whom we wouldn’t be able to take the field each week.
Nominations for these awards were submitted by Associations and voted on by the community. Winners were decided by the community votes and the HQ Awards panel.
Congratulations to all of our winners and thank you for your dedication to hockey.
