2022 QLD-based Hockeyroos Trials
Published Thu 10 Feb 2022
Over 30 of Queensland’s best female athletes have just wrapped up 5 days of 2022 Hockeyroos Squad Trials at home here at the Queensland State Hockey Centre.
Hockey Queensland CEO Alison Lyons has issued a statement praising our athletes, “For the past two years our Nationally-identified Development, Junior and Future Squad hockey players have had to battle the mental challenges of training, whilst their opportunities to perform on a National and International stage were being continuously cancelled.
Over the past 5 days, they finally got to shine alongside our Queensland-bred Australian players at the local leg of the 2022 Hockeyroos Selection Camp.
It has been an excellent experience watching our athletes demonstrating their skill, tenacity and the rewards for hard work by leaving it all out on the pitch.
The squad were also true role models of our #TeamQLD culture supporting each other throughout the trials. They should be very proud of themselves, as I am sure that the whole of our Queensland hockey community are proud of them!”
