Mission Statement
The mission of Hockey Queensland is to promote, preserve, foster and encourage the growth and enjoyment of the sport of Hockey for Players, Officials, and Spectators.
A Brief History
Hockey has been played in Queensland since 1921.
On 11 November 1995, the Queensland Women’s Hockey Association (QWHA) and the Queensland Men’s Hockey Association (QHA), amalgamated to form a new era in hockey – Hockey Queensland.
Today Hockey Queensland is comprised of Associations from Mount Isa to Atherton, Warwick to the Tweed Border, and everywhere in between.
The player base represents men, women, boys and girls ranging from five years of age in introductory programs to players aged over sixty five and seventy in Masters Programs. Hockey QLD is proud of the fact that hockey is considered a true family game.
Hockey Queensland has achieved much success in over 100 years of hockey, due in part to a large membership base, high quality coaches and team staff, and talented and dedicated members. Our players have risen to gain Australian honours over many years and continue to lead the way.
